Four club members and two prospective club members braved the heat and attended the Florida State F-Class Mid Range Rifle Match at Port Malabar Rifle Range near Palm Bay, FL for a two day match on October 13th and 14th.
Competitors fire 120 rounds for score at 300, 500 and 600 yards.
The top shooters from our group were Jack Dean who won Match 3 on Saturday with a score of 199-12X.
On Sunday he won Match 6 with a score of 199-9X and Match 8 with a score of 597-33X.
Jack finished second place overall in his division of F-T/R with a score of 1191-68X.
Prospective member, John Granauro who competed in the Open Division won Match 3 on Saturday with a score of 200-16X.
He finished the match second overall with a score of 1191-67X.
And two of our members broke the existing NRA National record in the Police category, currently held by Dave Mommaerts.
Pete Bono shot 585-26x to beat Dave's old record of 583-17x.
However, Dave shot one point better in the same match with a 586-17x score, thus retaining the record.
